Christmas season is a time when people take out time to unwind and enjoy themselves. It is in order though. Coupled with the fact that it is always at the end of the year, it becomes a necessity to recreate after a long year. The other part of it is that people tend to over spend during the Christmas season all in a bid to spoil themselves. With the reality that January always starts with bills like school fees et al, there is a need to conserve spending during the yuletide. There are ways of enjoying yourself during the Yuletide without breaking the bank. These are

1) Rocking your old clothes: In my native Nigerian society, people place priority on wearing new clothes on Christmas Day and new year day. I personally don't see anything wrong with wearing your old clothes during Christmas. Given the fact that clothes are always very expensive in this season.

2) Eat meat but don't slaughter an animal if you can't afford it: In my Nigerian society, Christmas is marked with the abundance of meat in households. That's why families take pride in slaughtering animals. The price of animals have tripled over the last one year. A person can still eat meat by retailing it instead of slaughtering a whole animal.

3) Attend free shows and not all those expensive shows. There are good shows happening free around.

During the holiday season, it can be easy to get carried away with expenses. But that doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your recreational activities. Here are some tips for cutting down on your recreational expenses this yuletide:

1. Take advantage of free activities. Many cities and towns offer free holiday-themed events, from concerts and holiday festivals to ice skating rinks and light displays. Do a little research and you may be surprised at what's available in your area.

2. Look for discounts and coupons. Check online or in your local newspaper for discounts and coupons for recreational activities like bowling, movies, and more. You may be able to find a great deal that you weren't expecting.

3. Get creative. Instead of splurging on a fancy dinner out, why not host a holiday party at your home? You can get creative with decorations, food, and entertainment and save a lot of money.

4. Make it a group outing. When you go out with a group of friends, you can split the cost of activities like miniature golf or laser tag. Everyone saves money and has more fun!

Yeah this is the season of celebration which you need to enjoy and it is for everyone. You need to show that you are also in the spirits of the season but if you don't have the money you don't have to kill yourself you can do the little you can and still enjou like it is a listed above it will be better to rock your old clothes and you are good to go. Nobody will run you now if you are not already running yourself. This is s where self confidence is needed. Just believe you can and go ahead.
