We at InsuredForum think that everyone has a right to privacy. We at InsuredForum aim to give our users the resources they need to take control of their identity. The information we gather, use, and share about you when you use our websites, mobile apps, widgets, and other online products and services (collectively, the “Services”), interact with us in any other way, or when we communicate with you is explained in this privacy statement. InsuredForum, Inc. (“InsuredForum,” “we” or “us”) respects your right to privacy and is committed to protecting it.

We only gather the bare minimum of data that can automatically be used to identify you. You don’t need to create an account if you just want to use our website. We don’t need your real name if you just want to sign up for an account to participate in a InsuredForum. Your exact location is not automatically tracked by us. You can choose how much or how little personal information to disclose. You have the option of creating additional accounts, making changes to your information as you see appropriate, or asking us to erase your information.

Any information we collect is mainly used for providing our services, which encourage social interaction and the growth of communities, the great majority of which are open to the general public. You can always ask us for further information if you have any questions about how we use your data

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

InsuredForum does not require an account to use it. When you register for a InsuredForum account, your username will either be one you choose or one that was produced automatically. Your username is visible to the public and need not be connected to your legal name. You can choose to submit additional, optional information when using InsuredForum. Information gathered through integrations

We might also get information about you from third-party websites that use our services, such our embeds and advertising technology, including log and usage data and cookie information. We might get information about the website you visited, for instance, when you go to a website that has InsuredForum embeds. Similar to that, if an advertiser uses InsuredForum ad technology, InsuredForum might get some restricted data about your activity on the advertiser’s website or app, like if you made a purchase. Information Obtained from Outside Sources

Embedded content

Through “embeds,” InsuredForum shows some connected content in-line on its services. For instance, InsuredForum articles containing links to Twitter or youtube may download the tweet or video directly from those sites to your device, preventing the need for you to leave InsuredForum in order to view it. Generally speaking, when third-party services deliver you their content directly through these embeds, InsuredForum has no control over how they collect data. As a result, the privacy rules of the service from which the content is embedded apply to embedded content rather than this one.

Analysis of audiences

To collect demographic data about the InsuredForum user base, we collaborate with service providers who perform audience measurement. These businesses collect cookie information to identify your device in order to give this demographic data.

Information obtained from current and prospective advertisers

We gather additional data if you use InsuredForum Ads . You need to enter your name, email address, and company information in order to sign up for InsuredForum Ads. Any visitors to and users of our Services will be able to see the content you contribute (such as a post, remark, chat message, or broadcast) to a public area of the Services, along with the username associated with the content and the date and time the content was initially posted.

There is a public profile page for your InsuredForum account. Your profile includes details about your use of the Services, including your username, previous posts and comments, karma, awards you’ve won, trophies you’ve accumulated, moderator status, InsuredForum Premium status, and the length of time you’ve been a user of the Services. You can also decide whether the information you upvote and downvote appears in your profile.

We provide social sharing tools that enable you to spread information or activities you take while using our Services across other platforms. Depending on the settings you specify with the third party that provides the social sharing function, your use of these tools makes it possible to share specific information with your friends or the general public. Please refer to the privacy policies of the third parties that provide these social sharing services for more details regarding the objectives and scope of data collection and processing in connection with those functions. (e.g., Tumblr, Facebook, and Twitter).

We never share any of your personal information. However, in addition to the publicly visible personal data indicated above, we may also share personal data in the following ways:

  • With your permission. With your permission or at your request, we might disclose information about you.
  • Paired with services. We will share the information you authorize with a third-party service if you link your InsuredForum account with it. According to “Your Rights and Choices” below, you can manage this sharing.

De-identified or aggregated data. We might provide data about you that has been combined or anonymized so it can’t be used to reasonably identify you. For instance, we might reveal the overall amount of upvotes for a post without revealing the visitors’ identities, or we might reveal to an advertising how many people saw their ad.

How Your Information Is Safe With Us

We take precautions to assist guard against the loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, and destruction of information about you. Removal of Your Account

From the user preferences page, you can always remove your account’s data. By using the procedure outlined below this table, you can also file a request to have any personal information InsuredForum holds on you deleted. When you deactivate your account, the content you posted under that account is separated from your profile and is no longer accessible to other users. Please be aware, however, that unless you first delete the specified content, the posts, comments, and messages you made before cancelling your account will still be accessible to others. It could take up to 90 days for our purge script to completely erase your account after you request its deletion.
