Body part insurance is an insurance plan that protects you against losses that you might incur as a result of injury, loss, or damage to any of your body parts. With Body part insurance, you would subscribe to paying a premium to cover a certain body part or combination of body parts. It could be your leg, your hands, your fingers, your toes, or any part of your body you deem worthy of being protected.

In most cases, people who take body parts insurance do so for parts of the body that they use to work and earn money. The insurance provider would pay you claims up to the amount you are to lose if that body part stops working in optimum condition. An athlete would insure his/ her legs. A model would likely insure his/ her face and stature. A tech guru would most likely insure his/her mind. An events host, comedian, and MC would likely insure his voice or vocal cords. Body part insurance can be taken for a combination of body parts.

If you were given a chance to take body part insurance, which part of your body would you likely insure? What are your reasons for wanting to insure that body part?

My first question is why should you get a different insurance policy that provides coverage against disability if you have any? Why not buy a life insurance policy that provides you coverage for disability as well? If you are familiar with term life insurance policies, you might very well know that this kind of life insurance policy will also provide coverage against terminal illness (for example, you were diagnosed with cancer) or disability (occurring through accidents or diseases). When you are buying a term life insurance policy make sure these two clauses are also included in your policy document so that you don't have to buy a separate policy
