When it comes to constructing buildings, concrete blocks are very important. There are the parts that come together to make a whole. There are two options to get blocks for a proposed building. The first option is to get a mason who would come with a mould and make the blocks right on the site. The other option is going to a company that makes blocks as a business and sells them. There, the owner of the site buys the blocks for his construction. Buying blocks is majorly done when there is a need to complete the building very quickly.

Buying blocks or moulding the blocks on site, which one is more cost effective. To mould blocks, you would need to buy cement, water, sand and pay the mason. The cost of cement is NGN4,500 and the costs of water and sand are NGN100 and NGN1000 respectively. The mason is paid NGN700 per bag moulded. The total cost for moulding a bag of cement is NGN6300. This would produce 40 solid blocks.

To buy, a block costs NGN150 per one. For 40 blocks, it would be NGN6000. That is to say that it is slightly more cost effective to buy blocks rather than moulding.
