The results of the most recent USAA Employee Reviews are in, and the results are not pretty. The Customer Service department is sinking and the package isn't what it used to be. There are also a lot of issues with work-life balance. Fortunately, it doesn't have to be this way. There are some simple ways to improve the workplace and improve your satisfaction with your work.

Customer service is in the sewer

If you're in the market for an insurance company, don't waste your time with USAA. Their customer service is atrocious. The employees are rude and evasive, and the call-menu is nearly impossible to use. Worse, when you do get through, the reps ask you pointless questions.

Benefits package

USAA offers a great benefits package to its employees. For starters, employees have generous PTO accruals that can be purchased whenever needed. Moreover, they can earn medical premiums through the company's wellness program. Active-duty military and veterans are also given preference. Lastly, USAA places a strong emphasis on excellent customer service.

According to Forbes, USAA is among the best employers in San Antonio. The company employs around 19,000 people in San Antonio. The pay increase will affect 3,000 of them. However, it won't affect any of the company's contract workers, known as "red badges." USAA did not immediately disclose the number of contractors it hires for various tasks.

The company also offers employee parental leave. Parents can take up to 18 weeks of paid leave to care for their children. In addition, the company offers support services for new parents and flexible work schedules. The USAA Dental Insurance Plan, which covers preventive, basic, and major dental care, is also available to employees. The plan allows employees to choose between a PPO or HMO network for their coverage. Employees can also choose to use any licensed dentist for their care.

Work-life balance

USAA has put a focus on finding college graduates with experience in technology and other fields, including software development. USAA's WorkLife program, designed by Jim Moon, Senior Analyst, has a variety of tools and resources to help employees better manage their life and work. The company also offers an employee assistance program (EAP), which provides psychological assistance.

USAA gives its employees a wide range of benefits, such as access to personal trainers and a full range of health insurance plans. The company is member-owned and has 6.4 million members. Many of them are active-duty military members or spouses of military personnel. Employees of USAA consider their work to be part of a mission.
