It's no secret that it may be challenging to save money. But if you build a few simple habits into your daily routine, you’ll be able to save big bucks on energy bills by the end of the year.

Here are some tips to help you get started:

1. Turn off lights when you leave a room, This can help save up to $120 a year!

2. Unplug your phone charger when not in use and make sure it’s fully charged before leaving for work or school. This will help keep your phone from being used as much, which will cut down on electricity costs as well!

3. When turning off lights at night, make sure they are turned off completely and not just dimmed so they do not stay on all night long like they might if they were left switched on all day long instead!

4. Set up timers for lights and appliances so they turn off when they're not in use anymore. This will help you save even more energy!

5. Use solar power when possible, especially if you live in a sunny location where there are lots of opportunities for solar panels to produce electricity during daylight hours.

6. Weatherize your home by adding insulation or sealing leaky windows and doors, which uses less energy than running an air conditioner all summer long when there's no heat required inside!

First of all, you need to check the source of your energy. If the primary source of your energy is green energy such as hydro, solar, wind, etc. You shouldn’t worry much, however, if the energy comes from burning coal or gas you should try to save as much as you can. In our county, hydroelectricity is the main source for home energy, therefore, I try to use as much electricity as I can and limit my usage of fossil fuels for cooking water heating, etc. One of the easiest ways to save energy is by using energy-efficient appliances. You might have to pay extra to buy energy-efficient appliances but in the long run, these are a great money saver.

Yes, it's true that using energy-efficient appliances can help save energy and reduce your energy bills. Other ways to save energy at home include:

  1. Turning off lights and electronics when they are not in use
  2. Using LED light bulbs, which are more energy-efficient than traditional incandescent bulbs
  3. Insulating your home to reduce heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer
  4. Using a programmable thermostat to control your heating and cooling systems
  5. Sealing air leaks around doors and windows to prevent drafts
  6. Planting trees or installing shading devices to block the sun's rays in the summer
  7. Using a clothesline or drying rack instead of a clothes dryer
It's also important to consider the source of your energy when making energy-saving decisions. If you have the option to choose a renewable energy source, such as solar or wind power, it can be a more environmentally friendly choice. However, it's important to weigh the costs and benefits of different energy sources and make a decision that is best for your situation.
