If you own a business, you need to file an insurance claim.

Yes, it can be scary. But no matter how small or large your business is, there's a good chance that something's going to go wrong in the future. And when that happens, you'll want to know that your business has the right coverage in place to protect against financial loss or damage.

That's why I put together this handy guide on how to file an insurance claim for your business and what to expect when it comes time to get things moving along.

1. If you have an insurance policy, contact your insurance company immediately.

2. Complete the form that comes with your policy, and send it to the insurance company.

3. Once they've received your report, they will review it and make a decision on whether or not to pay for the damages or losses you suffered as a result of an accident or other incident.

4. Make sure you have all of your receipts and records handy when you submit your claim, so that they can double-check everything and make sure everything is accurate before making their final decision about whether or not to pay for your losses.

5. Once the insurance company has decided whether or not to pay out on your claim, they will send you a check within 30 days of receiving it!
