You can save money and still keep your little one entertained by following a few simple steps.

1) Make a list of the games, toys, and clothes that your child already owns. Once you have this list, go through it again and cross off anything you can live without.
2) Get your child's permission to sell some of his or her favorite toys on eBay or Amazon. If they've outgrown them (or broken them), chances are someone else will treasure them just as much! And if they don't want to get rid of their old stuff for some reason? Offer to buy back anything that sells for less than half the original price.
3) To encourage your baby to grow out of old toys, start a "donate" pile in the corner of his or her room. A pile of things that he/she no longer plays with will make room for new items.
4) Find cheap entertainment by taking your baby along to activities that are already free, such as a day at the park (this is especially helpful on those days when you don't feel like spending the money for admission to an indoor activity). You can also let him or her help you with chores around the house!
5) Make use of public libraries and buy books and movies from thrift stores and second-hand shops.
